What should be done about drug addiction in wrestling?
30 Dec / 08
I’ll Take That One! asked:
Pain killers, steroids, depression, recreational drug use. Way too many wrestlers are dying young, are the promotors pushing them too hard? Is the schedule too strenuous?
Not really, Kane. They only test if there is “probable cause”. When do you think was the last time HHH or Batista have been tested? Dudes are juiced to hell.
I don’t even mind the roids as much as the pain killers. Maybe if they had time to heal, they wouldn’t have to take so many chemicals to wrestle through injuries. So many have developed addictions to pain killers, and when you compound that with alcohol and of course the steroids, it’s a lethal combination.

Just kick the balls of the person taking : Pain killers, steroids, depression, recreational drug use , and take it from his hands and throw it and run before he comes and hits you. I wish drug was not allowed in the wwe because this killed my favorite wrestler Eddie Guerrero i wish it never happend.
They need to make new rules that all that isn’t allowed. Nothing much they can do because they’re their own person.
yeah
wrestling promotions need an off season so the wrestlers can recuperate
Take out their dicks.
they need to have a policy that is for EVERYONE, don’t play favorites. If you have a policy of suspension for drug use, (AKA Mercury) and someone uses drugs then they should get the same thing happening to them. I think that they could be pushed too hard, because they give their all night after night.
is the price thet need to pay…
they have a drug test
It’s sad, but wrestlers (even a large number at the high school level), need to be or look competitive. Steroids are a necessity, and to maintain a wrestler’s popularity, so painkillers allow continued promotion.
Steroids are true gateway drugs because they can make people feel uncomfortable; people often try to offset the discomfort with other drugs. Wrestlers do not have a long lifespan.
Maybe the Cruiserweight division was invented to reduce wrestlers dependence on steroids and other drugs.
