Although I am not heavy, I also have an addiction to food. It is difficult to stop. I have recently gotten it somewhat under control. Try to determine what is causing you to eat so much. Do you eat when you are upset, bored, lonely, sad? Try to address what is causing you to be sad, upset, or lonely instead of turning to food. Think of how you feel after you overeat. Usually not too good, remind yourself it’s not worth it and try to do something else to occupy yourself. If you are overweight, your doctor may be able to prescribe an appetite suppressant if he feels it necessary So if you can, try talking to him/her about it. In the meantime, try gaining support from others who are going through the same thing. Try looking at if you’re trying to lose weight.
I’m going to be very honest with you. Exercise or eating healthy isn’t really the solution. You need to figure out why you are binge eating in the first place, the same way an alcoholic has to figure out what they are running away from by drinking. I’m a former binge eater and I’m speaking from experience, let me give you an example…
For the longest time ever I disliked my job, my boss and would come home from work and binge eat. It was horrible I kept gaining weight, feeling like crap and had no way out of this miserable cycle.
Deep down I knew the solution is to start looking for another one however it was a scary thought, and I was too lazy to update my resume, besides everyone said the economy sucked so I just settled for having a crapy job, living a crapy life and feel like crap. And guess what helped me get through it? Fooooood. When I would binge eat I would feel numbed out, I no longer felt or had to worry about the quality of my life or my job.
So my question for you is why are you binge eating? is there something painful in your life your ignoring or need to deal with? Anyways I write often on the topic of overeating, and have a few videos on your tube you might enjoy, here are some links for more info:

I think what would be best for you would be to go into a rehab clinic. If this is a prolonged addiction (as you say you have had this addiction for “Many Years”) then you need to separate yourself from the drug and break the detrimental habits you have acquired over those years. Try checking out a site like recoveryconnection.org for information on getting help for an eating addiction. My grandma did it when she had an eating addiction and it really helped her. I hope it helps you just as much, if not more.
