How Can I Stop Craving Sugar and Sweets?
Question by Oil & Water: How can I stop craving sugar and sweets?
I am trying to lose weight but I keep failing because I have very poor will power when it comes to sugar, chocolate and cakes etc. Most of the stuff I eat is healthy but I do still over eat on treats does anyone have any useful tips to prevent cravings for sugar and overeating.
Thank you !
I can’t get rid of all the sweets in the house because I live with my family who still want to eat that stuff. I wish I could.
I will try eating fruit instead when I feel a craving.

Hi, I was the same way as you are. I loved my cakes, pies, chocolates, breads, pasta’s but now I no longer crave them. IN the beginning it was a bit hard, but I went on the South Beach Diet. You can buy a book from the book store or even get one from the library. Follow it and you wil be surprised. One day our boss bought chocolate covered donuts with nuts and I refused it. I was shocked with myself. I lost a lot of weight as well. Best of luck.

Sometimes if you have a craving you should just give in to it, but not overdo it. If you’re craving something sweet then concentrate on what exactly you are craving, and try not to have more than a serving of it. For example, if you are craving chocolate, go and buy a chocolate bar that can be broken up into pieces, and have one or two small pieces. (Dark chocolate’s the best for you). If you hold out for however long, that’s when you’re gong to start overeating. Or buy something that’s sugar free and try not to eat a whole lot. Or try fruit, they have natural sugars in it that shouldn’t set you back.
