I’ve quit for about 7 month’s and started smoking again. Out of nowhere the craving was stronger then when I was smoking daily. What makes nicotine so damn powerful? and has anyone found a way to truly break the addiction?

Not entirely sure about the whole addiction/withdrawal process, but I know nicotine itself helps the heart work and that’s where a major part of the addiction comes from. You become dependent on nicotine for stressful situations when your heart needs that extra boost to work. This can be found in eating large meals, when you’re under a lot of pressure, and when consuming large amounts of alcohol (aka calories) which is why it’s so pleasurable at that time.
Edit: I’m going to smoke a cigarette now because I’m intoxicated. FML.

There is a new medication on the market that came out just recently, it’s supposed to be great. I’ve talked to people who have taken it and they swear by it. I don’t know the name of it but it’s by prescription only ask your Dr about it, it’s a nicotine blocker. It’s expensive and Insurance wont pay for it so it’ll cost you.
