First he should ask the members in his meetings if they would object to him bringing you. If those in his meeting to not mind (they probably won’t but they may want their privacy respected) then you should go to show that you support him. Not only because of that, but because you might learn things about your husband that might make you a better wife and inturn make him a better husband as well.

As far as what to expect. Well it depends on your husband really. I think to start this tends to be a tough process. not only in getting used to not using drugs or drinking, but also to get used to normal life in general. He may have issues with stress, psychological withdrawl from marijuana can be very hard. While its not deadly like alcohol, just like in compulsive gamblers, its a tough habit to kick.

You should go to these meetings (if possible) to learn what you can do to support your husband and keep him on the straight and narrow path. Understand that only about 3% of addicts actually stay clean the first time they quit and go to rehab.

Finally in order for this to work at all, you yourself will need to stay clean (if thats an issue that is). if you cannot then you will ultimately sabotage your husband’s sobriety.

U should go, I know from being an addict that when family understand exactly whats going on its easier to cope. Coming of it is very like a very bad hangover but it lasts longer. Sweats, anxiety, restlessness, mood swings, loss of appetite, emotional.
