How Can I Stop My Video Game Addiction?

Question by : How can i stop my video game addiction?
Okay, so ive been doing a little study on the idea of possibly having a video game addiction. i know it doesnt sound like a serious addiction, but it is and its really affecting how im living. i started playing about 2 years ago and i continue to play for about 8+ hours a day. ive tried to just not play for a day but somtime along the day im on my games again. like stated in some of the pages ive visited, im desocializing myself from friends and family. i dont want to do anything including daily activities like getting dressed, doing my hair and make-up. (yes im a girl gamer) Since ive started playing video games ive lost my ambition to actually move out on my own get a job go to school and to have social interactions. im 18 btw. ive been playing a mmorpg. which is an mass multiplayer online role playing game. Im having symptoms like irregular sleeping, i only eat something small once a day, i shower, but i dont get dressed to go out, do my hair and make-up anymore like i used to do on a daily basis. im seriously asking for help seeing how there is no actual help for a video game addiction. if someone has maybe had some experience with something like this please help me. thanks.
Thank you guys very much. My mother actually thought my problems could have been dfrom depression so you saying that it mimics depression is a solid fact that i have a game addiction. thank you again for being serious with me and not saying rediculous things.

I think you should just sell all your games and block any websites on your computer that allow you to play any video games. Find a new hobby. Believe me, you’re 18, you have the world at your feet.. do something with it..

At least you recognize you have a problem. When you hit bottom, you’ll unplug the power cord and cut it in half. Then you’ll be forced to get out of the house. Good luck with your problem.
