Caffeine Addiction/withdrawal?
Question by : Caffeine addiction/withdrawal?
I started out with just drinking a monster the flavour was alright but I just loved the energy I got from it. (I’m 14 by the way) I began drinking at least one a day (sometimes one of those big 3 serving ones) until my mom said I was addicted to caffeine and needed to stop. I started drinking coffee every morning and sometimes in the evenings, taking mor than the advised dose of pamperin (60 mgs per serving) when I wasn’t on even on my period and buying mio energy. Ive tried stopping but the headaches and other symptoms I get are so bad, and even just a few gulps of monster or otherwise completely gets rid of them when ibeprophen (sp?) doesn’t even touch it. So how could I stop with the caffeine (and start sleeping right) without all the withdrawal?

You can’t stop the caffeine without getting withdrawls. It is the same for alcoholics – if they stop drinking, within 6-24 hours they experience symptoms like tremors, excessive sweating, agitation or paranoia – things like that. So my best advice is to literally just get it over with and get the caffeine out of your system because I’m sure you know how bad all that caffeine is for you. I am cringing here!! Think of it like a heroin addict – she keeps shooting up and if she stops she gets all the withdrawls because her body isn’t getting the chemical that it has been addicted to. So as you can imagine it goes crazy and all her neurons in her brain and all over her body fire up and make her really sick and panicked (like you get the headaches). But after a certain amount of time, her body is going to be rid of the chemical and it literally won’t know what it’s missing. The same goes for caffeine.
