Can Somebody Please Tell Me More About the Addiction to the Drug LSD?
Question by miss honey: Can somebody please tell me more about the addiction to the drug LSD?
Last Tuesday, one of my 7th grade students approached me to tell me about a family secret. He told me that his father is addicted to LSD. He said that his father’s addiction is getting worse by the minute. His father seemed frightened and worried that there was a point that he thought he was about to die. My student told me that he thinks that his father is on the edge of insanity. I’m really worried about my student and I wanted to help him.

The problem of your student’s father with LSD is not considered as addiction. I think it is better to consider it as a dependence. LSD is not an addictive drug but it is tolerable. LSD (d-lysergic acid diethylamide) is a type of hallucinogen. It is commonly called as the acid and it affects the mind of the abuser by controlling his perception of reality. He experiences episodes of frightening situations Some cases of LSD abuse may lead to mental disorders like psychosis, depression or schizophrenia. Physically, a person using LSD has dilated pupils and a dry mouth. A person abusing LSD develops a difficulty in sleeping because of the unwanted thoughts that harbors in his head. Abusing LSD also results to the increase of heart rate, body temperature and blood pressure. LSD abusers may also experience sweating and tremors.
