Drug Resistance- Are Chromosomes Involved?
Question by cheese101: Drug resistance- are chromosomes involved?
Hello!
Do chromosomes affect a drug’s performance? If a person becomes resistant to a certain drug, are chromosomes involved in any way in causing this resistance?
Thanks for any help! 🙂
I mean drugs as in medicinal drugs such as antibiotics, chemotherapy etc. I want to know specifically how the CHROMOSOMES are involved, not genes.

Why Won’t They Completely Legalize Pot?
Question by Corey: Why won’t they completely legalize pot?
It isn’t like its bad it is better than alcohol and if the government did we would be out of our debt in a couple of years i find the government dumb.

Because we can grow our own pot, and the government doesn’t get money if we can grow it. And they can’t tax it.

Causes of Addiction: Pornography: What Is Your Opinion?
Question by doc j: Pornography: What is your opinion?
I have been assigned a rhetorical essay assignment in my upper division English class. My argument focuses the consequences of viewing pornography excessively. Professional opinion on this topic varies widely. In your view, is frequent viewing of pornography an addiction similar to drug abuse, gambling, and the alike, or is it merely a matter of choice?
What I’m struggling with is the fact that by definition, the term addiction “involves severe trauma resulting from cessation.”

Answer by Gwen
I think the term addiction is the right one for viewing pornography. not just viewing it excessively, but watching/reading it AT ALL.
Your thought processes are a matter of choice. You CAN control your thoughts, and emotions. Watching porn is a choice, but shows a mind that has given up attempts at control. Such minds are incapable of stopping, and forcible cessation with such an attitude WILL cause severe trauma.
Causes of Addiction: What Should I Do?? Help?! (10 Pts.)?
Question by Jay: What should I do?? Help?! (10 pts.)?
Alright, here’s the deal. An obsession has been bugging me for a week and I severely need some advice. To tell you the story…A week ago, I had an arguement with some people on a site concerning music stuff. I didn’t like something they liked so I was mad and I was a bit offensive in my statement. So all of them starting swearing at me. The thing is that, I have a habit where whenever there is somebody who offends me, I have the “addiction” to swear back at him/her. If I don’t do it and try to leave it, it will constantly be into my mind. I think I am a little selfish at this subject and I never want anyone else to humiliate me except me humiliating him/her. Anyway, thosr people swore at me and I swore at them back. A day later, though, came another dude and started humiliating me again. I said I should leave it be but it comes back to my mind. Like “go back and swear at him. Come on, you are right, not him”. I feel this has hit my ego and now when it comes to arguments with other people, if they are offensive, I don’t want to offend them cause it’s not right cause I should first offend this guy in order to be equal for everyone. I know I sound weird but please give me some suggestions. How can I get this out of my mind and go on with my life? Should I eventually go back to this guy and swear at him (although this may seem a bit stupid since a week has passed aftet the situation) or should I let it go?
