Addiction and the Brain?
Question by Le Hiccup Bandit: addiction and the brain?
I’m doing a research project in class about addiction and what it does to the brain, and why addiction is so hard to stop.
The areas I’m studying under:
Sex addiction (why people can’t seem to get enough, and how it becomes an addiction)
Drug addiction (the different lobes that each drug effects, what damage it does, etc.)
Gambling addiction ( why people can’t seem to get enough, and how it becomes an addiction)
What are your thoughts?
Do you know of any good sources that I can use to do more research on this?
I find this topic EXTREMELY interesting. And would LOVE to learn more on it.
This is why I picked this topic for research. 🙂

I think that the brain is wired differently (chemically) when someone is addicted than to the nonaddictive person.
