I have a bipolar disorder and I am addicted to the internet. Is there a correlation and are there any first hand experience? What can I do to stop this problem?

The bipolar disorder itself wouldn’t cause the problem. Where I can see a correlation would be that when a person has mania, they tend to be really enthusiastic and go over the top on whatever it is that catches their interest. Also, when manic, you are up all night a lot of the time, and what else is there to do at 2 AM but use the computer or watch TV? Most people live with someone else (or in an apartment or condo etc) and can’t be strumming the guitar at 2 AM or doing home remodeling, etc. Home remodeling is what I get into when manic, or playing the piano, and do I ever get frustrated when it gets late and I have to stop!

Also, if you have bipolar, I think there is an increased risk of getting other mental disorders, so addiction troubles could be more likely.
