Does SWIM Still Have a Drug Problem?

Question by Angel<3mc: Does SWIM still have a drug problem?
Hello everyone, so SWIM got out of a Rehab facility about 3+ months ago. Everything was going great for him until, he found himself financially struggling. Had to sale his car and other material possessions. Turns out he lost his job, when fact of the matter was that he was on an extension in Disability (possible lawsuit against the company he worked for). Anyhow, SWIM was in Rehab because he wanted to be. He had an addiction to opiates. He is 20 and was hooked for a few years. Now a couple months later, things have gotten worse for him and I think he is relapsing or has relapsed HARD, things seem worse than when we decided to make the stupid move to go to Rehab. He has gotten Drunk SO BAD, he DESTROYED someone’s apartment one of those times, and the other, didn’t F up as bad, but still doesn’t remember anything. SWIM also got ahold of some morphine pill took it about 60 days after rehab, and about 4 weeks stole from a friend a couple codeine pills. Recently learned about DXM and he very much seems to like it… ALOT! Dr’s took him off his ADD/ADHD meds, for no apparent reason. So he never seems to get or be able to get his ass out of bed! Has been like this for like 3 weeks. Oh yeah, he also has an eating disorder which has only gotten worse sense the Rehab…. Any opinions on what SWIM should do next? All he wants to do is be happy. He can not seem to be happy sober. He thinks “we only live once, why not live to the foolest and whatever happens, happens” I know Swim cant wait to get a hold of some H or OP (OC). He has even asked for cocaine, pot, whip its, things I know he would have never have tried or have asked for. Only way to get him out of his room is to get em drugged with anything.
How do you live life sober? How are normal people naturally happy??? No matter what
SWIM does, he

Is
Sooooo not happy.

Yes, he still has a drug problem. All you can do is tell him what you see and leave it alone. You can not rescue him. With that said, a group intervention can be done. This is where everyone sits down with him and tells him their concerns, fears, and impact he has had on their lives. A professional drug and alcohol counselor would mediate. I understand your concerns, feelings but sometimes we must allow people to make bad choices. Only then will they hopefully wake up.
