okay so i take a lot of advil when i am in pain.
my parents found out that i took more that the recommended dose and my parents dont let me take advil anymore.
the most i take is ten advil in twelve hours. now, don’t yell at me for doing this. i have only done this TWICE in my life. this is not like i am addicted or anything.
i did it recently for the second time this week, and my best friend told me that she was going to tell my parents. she was very serious about it. i begged her not to tell them, but she won’t reason with me.
how do i convince her that i control this and i am not going to do this often or get addicted??

Tell her if she tells ur parents you will just take more

It may be best if your best friend does tell your parents because your parents will keep you accountable and will hopefully try to help you with the pain you feel. Your friend really cares about you, i would encourage you to keep being friends with her because she too cares about your well-being. Taking to much Advil is bad for you. Although your “addiction” is not extremely severe right now, it will just get worse, next thing you know you will be in a bigger hole than you just started off in, you will find yourself doing really bad things. twice is way more than never. I highly advise you to tell your parents before your friend does for these reasons:
1) If your Parents find out that you have been overdosing in drugs by a friend they will get extremely angry before they want to help you, if they find out from you there is a chance that they will be more wanting to help you instead of being angry with you.
2) If you tell your parents first hand, then there is more likely a chance that your trust with them wont be broken because you are able to trust them and tell them your problem
3) they know what is right for you and will encourage you to break your habit before any severe harm is done they can set you up with a councilor or something.
4) Parents are not stupid, they can help you, no matter how old you are you are still their baby and they want what is best for you. If you dont tell them, they will find out one way or the other.
5) it is easier to stop now than later
