How and Where Do I Get Help for Addiction to Painkillers?
Question by james: How and where do I get help for addiction to painkillers?
Alright look. I don’t need any bull spit answers. I’ve kicked pain killers twice but it only lasted for like 10-14 days. I don’t want to stop. I love the feeling of snorting my percs. I mean I seriously love that feeling. Heres the thing me and my girlfriend live together. We have a home. I love her and would never want to loose this girl. She was the first to point out I’m a addicted. Well she didn’t give me a choice like her or the pills but I can tell it bothers her. We’ve been together for over two years and I’ve been a addicted for like a year now.
So where do I go from here? I cant do this on my own obviously….I keep trying and failing. I don’t need anyone giving me a lesson or asking how many I take. Lets just say….a lot. This all started from a spine injury at work. Well, I’m 21 and been out of work for a year or so. I sit at home all day so yeah I get high on pain killers. Save your damn lessons I don’t need them from anyone. If you want to preach to people about this problem then go work at a rehab place.
THIS IS ALL I WANT! I just want to know where do I go for help? Do I go to a rehab for painkiller addiction? Is there like a 12 step program or something? I live just outside of Chicago so I’m sure there are places near by.
p.s. My girlfriends parents work at a mental hospital place. Her mom works with people that have like killed people and her dad works with f**ked up drug addicts. She talked to her parents pretending it was a paper for school or some shit and thats how I know for sure I have a issue. Her parents love me and they are such kind hearted people but I honestly can’t bring myself to asking them for help…I love her family as my own I don’t want them thinking less of me. I’m not a bad person..I’m actually a pretty good guy and got addicted to pain killers and honestly I don’t do drugs or drink. Well except for the norco and percs. I honestly feel ashamed of myself so please don’t give me a hard time for this….I just want help to save my relationship….
My apologies this was so long. I needed to vent. Thank you for taking your time and reading this. My grammar isn’t great either so don’t be a smart ass haha.
thanks,
James

Just do it the same way you did for the 14 days… A rehab will most likely hold you only 3-7 days. Also, if you really want to quit, tell all your doctors you’re an addict. They’ll never prescribe them again. Good luck
