How Can I Go on a Diet and Actually Stick to It?

Question by Kasey J: How can I go on a diet and actually stick to it?
I always end up stopping the diet because of my weakness…junk food.
How can I actually stick to it without the junk food cravings?

Eat junk food still. Only once a week though. Or eat it whenver, but dont go over your calorie limit. 2000 being the absolute max. aim for 1500, and start exercising slow, 30 mins twice a week, eventually go to 5 times a week for 1 hour a day.

As a mental health professional with 20+ years experience, now retired, I can tell you that the ONLY way to do such is to make up your mind to do it and DO IT!! Any other way is just flimsy nonsense and provides you too many excuses for failure. Either you want to “diet” or eat healthier, or you don’t. It’s pure and simple, and “junk food cravings” are just an “addiction” that is as easy to overcome as how you get started on a “diet”. You “Just Say No”, as the Late First Lady Nancy Reagan campaigned, or you don’t. One way you succeed. One way you keep on failing, and since much of my professional work was with people with all sorts of addictions, I have the clinical experience to back up what I’m saying. Oh, and I’ve got my own personal “addiction” experiences too, so, I’ve got the personal experience to back up what I’m saying as well. God Bless you.
