How Do I Stop My Brother From Computer Game Addiction?
Question by IL0V3P1G5: How do I stop my brother from computer game addiction?
Ok so my brother is 16 and all he does is play League of legends or minecraft online ALL DAY AND NIGHT. Sometimes, he would stay up playing games from 5pm until 3-5am and would skip school. He has always been addicted to internet junks and computers in general. He is also anti-social and would not hang out with his friends outside of school. My parents and i have tried taking away his computer but he got so depressed that we returned it to him but with one condition: play only on weekends and do something else like hanging out with friends. However, he would keep that promise for only about 3 days and would play games when I’m out of the house (my parents travel for business a lot) so there’s no one to supervise him. Seems like the only way to stop him is to take away his computer but he would start playing games on his Samsung galaxy. I already asked him if he was interested in something besides games but he says no. I’m trying to help him because i care about him and don’t want him to end up like a loser. It’s also my duty because he is my only younger brother and our parents are not home most of the time. Please help my brother.
@Wildone That’s not going to do anything.

i’m like that too , and there’s really nothing you can do about it , his the only one that can help himself . Personally i’ve tried to stop for a few days but it really feels like months of agony , the only help i found was that i would put my computer in another room , and only play my iphone if i really can’t bear it , and only for max of 10 mins every few hours. another way that really helps me is going outside and sprinting non-stop until i drop , or punching cushions to get the anger out or speed running through homework with highest accuracy possible which gets you good marks in the end so it’s a win , win situation.
