How to Overcome Serious Music Addiction?
Question by Curious: How to overcome serious music addiction?
I listen to music all the time except when I’m at school. While eating, studying, watching tv, reading, surfing the net, walking, talking… Literally, while doing anything. 6 hours on weekdays, 12 hours on weekends. 54 hours in total in a week. More than two whole days…
This has been bothering me so much lately. Because I don’t feel like doing anything when there is no music on the background. I literally feel sick. I feel I could live in the land of music laying on my bed for eternity.
I need to stop this. And any help and answer is appreciated. Thank you so much.

An addiction describes something that is unhealthy.
Listening to music, as long as it doesn’t stop you from getting on with daily life, isn’t unhealthy at all.
What is unhealthy, is the fact that you can’t or don’t feel like doing anything when you’re not listening to music. I don’t think listening to music is to blame for this. Life can pretty dull sometimes & music always brightens it up a bit – music gets you moving.
You have to figure out why you don’t enjoy your life – music isn’t the problem here, there are obviously deeper things. Music seems to be just taking your mind off things that are possibly troubling you. Take a long, hard think and try to determine why it is that you don’t enjoy your life.
