I would say like any addiction try and wean yourself off it bits at a time, there is nothing inherently wrong with MMO’s but playing them all the time is a problem. If your serious about quitting then try and set a time limit that you play each day and make it less and less as you go, try and fill the time with reading or writing or even a job, believe me a job will take up a lot of your time.

I’ve never been addicted to an MMO enough that if I really had a need to, I could not quit without having to give my stuff away, or set it up so it would be saved (as in, empty mailboxes and stuff) and just stop.
a few times I just stopped logging in.
one time in a game I gave back the stuff that I had borrowed, and then just stopped.
I didn’t have to give everything away or anything. I just stopped.
if its really a problem, I’d say set it up so the stuff is kept/saved/ect but just stop.
