Is There an Easy Painless Way to Get Off of Suboxone?

Question by Gary A: Is there an easy painless way to get off of Suboxone?
I’m a recovering addict. I’ve been clean and off opiates for 4 yrs and I’m doing better than ever. I tried for yrs to kick but it never lasted. The thing was I could get clean easy enough, I just couldn’t stay clean. The longest clean time I put together since starting in 1990 was 1 yr. I’ve tried everything, meetings, in patient and out patient counseling, residential treatment (2 times), different depression and anxiety meds, even jail. Nothing ever stuck. In no time I’d be back to doing what got me there. It was hopeless. I was in a downward spiral whirlwind of doing drugs and chasing drugs to avoid withdrawal. After awhile it was just avoiding withdrawal. The drugs weren’t fun anymore they just maintained me and kept the dope sickness away. I couldn’t keep up with the ferocity of my addiction though and had pretty much exhausted all my options for getting the drugs. You see, I never messed with heroin cause I was too afraid of the dope sickness so I stuck with prescription pain killers, that was bad enough. The only thing was I had gotten in trouble so many times for illegally writing scripts, this was how I got them, that I didn’t have any more pharmacies to go to. They all knew me and red flagged me. I couldn’t afford the street price or even get enough to get by (I was taking 35 to 50 percs or vics a day). I started faking injuries to get legit scripts at different hospital ers but quickly ran out of hospitals. I’d go to the same ers using dif names but staff got to recognizing me. I would have to drive an hour out of state to go to one but the same thing happened. I was a mess, and running out of options. Then one day a friend turned me onto Suboxone and it was great. I found out it’s actually a drug for treating opiate addiction and got on the program legit. Life has been great since. Normal and productive anyway. Thing is I still feel trapped, relying on something. Is there a way off this stuff w/o getting sick? I can’t deal with the withdrawals.

Im sure no one can deal with the withdrawals symptoms. You must be strong and do it for yourself. Good luck.
