My Genetic Addiction Sucks, Other Opinions Anyone?

Question by Demowyn: My genetic addiction sucks, other opinions anyone?
Not too sure how to express this because I’ve never done it before. Throughout the research of my direct genetical family, we are all addicted to whatever is offered. Being it Alchohol, Cocaine, Crack, Aderal. Those are the four that I love and actively ask about via the direct interaction of my peers. When sober, I look back and think how stupid I was to spend my hard earned money for it. Doesn’t matter what the price, I’ll pay it. Last night I paid $ 120 on Coke. And to make it worst, I put it on credit. I knew I’d see him at a later date; and knowing I’d be wondering why I’m giving up $ 120 for something that wasn’t that fun as it was; I still did it. Me and my willpower fight all the time. I want to kick its ass. I want to find my willpower in a dark alleyway with a baseball bat, but it never fails. The only thing, and I’m not blaming it on this just to make excuses, is on genetics. If someone could not pop my self-esteem and instead relate to me, that would be great. Thanks

Once you use and you have that addictive personality, the drugs will alter your brain and you no longer have a choice because the drugs make the choices for you. But If you decide not to pick up drugs or alcohol, you are OK.
