You’ve literally done heroin for a week without withdrawal? That surprises me above all.

Answer by Eric
Are you a robot? Doing heroin for a week and cutting it cold turkey should be hard for anyone. Perhaps you’re replacing one drug with another – most drugs work on a lot of the same brain chemicals and could prevent withdrawals from other drugs.

Addiction to Drugs Physical or Mental?

Question by Omar: addiction to drugs physical or mental?
Is addiction to stimulant drugs a physical or mental addiction?

Best answer:

Answer by .
Depends. And is probably a mixture of both. With a drug like cocaine, if you have been taking it a lot, and then you don’t have any, you get a itchy desperate feeling like you’ve got to have some more. Same with cigarettes or alcohol, your body gets used to having it and when it doesn’t, it starts to withdraw and you want mor to stop the feeling of discomfort. But then I’d say that the onset of the addiction comes from a mental perspective. Say with a drug like weed, the physical withdraw isn’t uncomfortable, you just rely on it mentally.

Answer by Ms Mad Scientist
Except for the first one about mental illness, it sees like the other two seem correct.

– Using drugs can develop the disease of addiction, which is based in the brain.
– Drugs do change the way the brain functions.
– Drugs stimulate the creation of chemicals like dopamine, which can damage the brain.

Stop My Self Harm Cycle.?

Question by Incognito: Stop my self harm cycle.?
I am a self harmer.I try not to do it but its really hard not to because sometimes I dont even notice im doing it.

I was diagnosed with clinical depression a little over a year ago and have been harming myself for over 2 years.

With clinical depression I just have a chemical imbalance so hurting myself feels good to me (I REALLLYY wish it didnt because I hate the scars and the way people look at them)

I try my best to cover them up espicially when I have a open one on my arms or something but lately I have been peeling away the skin on my fingers until they bleed (Don’t ask me why Im not even sure myself) and I cant really do anything about it.
