nicotine addiction varies from person to person. some people have a genetic predisposition to be very sensitive to nicotine, in which case they get alot more form one cig than a regular person would, thus they smoke less and do not become addicted.
i read a book that included a study that was conducted on nicotine addiction which puts the ‘tipping point’ of cigarette addiction at most probable in those who smoke over 4 a day. after that point you are very likely to become hooked.
some people on the basis of a purely addictive personality will be hooked for life from the first one. some people will smoke casually 1 or 2 a day, or a few a week and never become addicted at all.
If Hookah Is Used Less Than Once a Week (Probably Less Than Once a Month), Can It Cause Much Harm?
Question by niemasd: if hookah is used less than once a week (probably less than once a month), can it cause much harm?
well, every now and then, at parties, there is a hookah, but usually parties are at fastest once a week, probably less than once a month though
using it that much, and then probably stopping after college, would it cause much harm?
passing it around for like 3 hours, so probably like 30 minutes per person, much less for me as i dont like it too much
also, i know it can “lead to addiction and cigarette addiction”, but i’m not asking about that
with the previously stated circumstances, can it cause much harm?

Causes of Addiction: Getting Over Nicotine Addiction Permanently
To successfully quit smoking it is pertinent to break the bonds that hold you to it. If your smoking is purely due to an addiction to nicotine you are one of many. This addiction is one of the most common reasons that cause people to continue smoking despite attempts to quit. It is also the reason that tobacco companies remain cool and confident as economic recession strikes. Even when people are cutting corners elsewhere, if they are addicted to nicotine they won’t cut back on cigarettes. In fact, the stress of economic uncertainty may actually cause smokers to buy more cigarettes, which can create huge profits for big tobacco companies. You, however, are left with the daunting task of breaking your addiction.
