depends on what kind of addictions. In cigarettes and hard drugs they contain chemicals that cause you to become physically addicted to it, where your body thinks you need whatever it was. Then theres mental addictions, like all the strange addictions. Theres nothing in her urine thats physically addictive, but when she drank it, something about it was soothing or she enjoyed which made her mentally addicted

It depends if you have an addictive personality. Sometimes drugs are a chemical dependence, sometimes it’s just a habitual thing. You can be addicted to anything if it becomes a routine enough times. Unfortunately most of the time, people get addicted to the “high” and you build up a tolerance until you need more of the drug to achieve the desired effect which leads to overdose.

After prolonged use of recreational drugs there high becomes less and less. Thus making them venture into hard drugs to once again attain that high from when they first started using.

Answer by Steven
It’s a natural progression. As tolerance develops to the “softer” drug, the user wants an ever greater high.

If you study all academic research on hard drug users, an extremely small minority of them started on hard drugs. It was a progression from “soft” drugs like marijuana etc
