I have been an alcohol addict for last more than eight years, consuming at least 180ml of whiskey or hard-drink per day. Can I give it up overnight without having any health problems? Please suggest.

any addiction will cause side effects, that was da con, the pro is once your addiction is over, u will feel brand spanking new, a few days of tremors is worth feeling great the rest of your life

I do not Think so because when my grandfather was in the hospital they had us tell them how much he drink every day b/c they had to give him just the right amount so he would not get withdraws..I would talk to your doctor…

there could be if you are eating chocolate to the point where it is threatening your health but you can’t stop eating it then I guess you could consider it addiction. or if you have to eat chocolate everyday but it doesn’t interfere with your life it could still be addiction but don’t get a cure. what would the cure be any ways? would you have withdrawal symptomsLOL

Join the millions of International Chocolate Lovers who are hooked on Chocolate! I for one should be president of that club. Although cocoa is said to be a drug, not to mention a sexual stimulant (*nudge, nudge*), it may be addicting but its notthing more than an oversized sweet tooth encompassing the world. I wouldnt worry too much about it. If you do happen to start gaining a lot of weight and feeling disgusting, then maybe youve eaten too much. but a littel snickers here, or godiva there wont kill ya. 🙂

I have a gastric lapband. It will be 3 years this week. For 21/2 years I was able to contol and lose 140 pounds. Once I reached my goal I began to gain it back. I now feel out of control. My thoughts are constantly about food. I know it has to be psychological.

In common with other eating disorders, there is a significant emotional element to compulsive overeating. Although there is no known exact cause, there are several likely options. Most sufferers of compulsive overeating use food as self-medication to cope with overwhelming emotions of shame and depression. Many feel guilty that they are “not good enough” and are ashamed of their increasing weight. Most have very low self esteem. Sufferers also frequently have a constant need for love and validation, which they attempt to satisfy with food.
