iternet addiction may be regarded as a disease in China, a media report said.

A research on internet addiction, which is to be named ‘pathological Internet use’, was being conducted by the Ministry of Health, China Daily quoted Shen Jiahong, director of the Guangzhou Baiyun Psychological Institute, as saying.

About 50 percent of teenaged delinquents in China’s Guangdong province were Internet-dependent, said Deng Weilong who heads the Guangdong team on the prevention of teenaged crimes.

Question by Alucian: I have an addiction to computers…any advice?
I know I do. It’s not obvious at first but if I ever think of not using a computer for a day, my chests literally aches. I get an urge to use a computer when before I didn’t have one. Mind you, this only happens when I THINK of not using it for a day, but if I’m out around town all day and don’t use it, I’m fine. I know I’m addicted but with technology always being at hand around every corner and everyone expecting me to use it, how exactly do I handle it? I’m a writer and I’ve tried writing by hand but after a few pages my mind starts yelling at me, “you can do this so much faster on the computer why not jump on it and write this,” which in turn leads to my chest hurting with the angst and desire which is then relieaved when I get on the computer. Problem is, I’ll spend several hours watching videos or surfing the web without writing a single thing…so frustrating. Any advice?    Read more...

i know getting a GF is a great way to do this – but its best to let things in your love life take their own route instead of trying to love a girl who you don’t – it’s also cruel on them to start a relationship which has no chance of success

please could you give me some practical tips on how to beat this – it’s making me feel guilty and generally degrades my view of sex and lust etc….
