Genetic Repair?

Question by Emanuel C: Genetic repair?
Scientists are also developing techniques to treat and cure genetic diseases through genetic surgery and genetic therapy. They can already identify genetic sequences that are defective, and soon scientists will be able to replace these defects with properly functioning genes. I copied and pasted that from a website. I read that OCD is showing more and more signs of being biological and therefore genetic in nature, another website said all disease or defective behavior has some genetic element of change. From what I copied and pasted it sounds like they can identify these defective sequences and replace them with properly functioning genes, does this mean virtually a cure for all disease or deviant behavior? I suffer from OCD, so this information is very exciting to me, even if its not possible for a very long time, its still something to hope for.

Try not to take pain killers as Rebound headaches can occur in people who take these medications or others more than 10 times per week, and especially if the person takes the maximum recommended dose (or more) each time they take the drug.It is very harmful to overdose. If your problems get worse contact a doctor immediately As the body develops a tolerance to the medication, headaches begin to worsen and become more frequent, resulting in a cycle of increasing dosages and more frequent medication use. Also pain killers have side effects which can be life-threatening.

What Happens in the Brain to Make Someone Addicted to Something?

Question by GIG45TXFL: What happens in the brain to make someone addicted to something?
Do people really have addictive personalities?

Answer by tlbrown42000
There is a difference between physiological and psychological addiction. Both have their own reasons and most of the time both are involved at some level. Addictive personalities are those who use escapism and denial and repression to deal with stress. Alot of times they are emotionally sensitive so stress and anxiety is more painful and harder for them to deal with in the beginning. This is a vast and complicatied subject and one that medically is being expanded daily because its an area that was neglected for a long time. Considering the rate of addiction, I think that we have quite a way to go with this area.

Can Sex Addiction Really Kill Brain Cells ?

Question by : Can Sex Addiction really kill brain cells ?
the article went like this….

Meth causes extreme amounts of dopamine to be released, if you use meth for a long time you eventually get plenty of brain damage. SEX is very similar to drug use as far as the brain can tell. So after about 5 years of continious and excessive masturbation or sex daily your brain is used up and dopamine and other neurotransmitters are gone.

Here’s my question, im that guy who’s had sex or masturbated heavily for the past 5 years. And even by just looking at me not what i use to be. Should i seriously consider suicide, because i dont want to do this to my fiance. atleast she can still marry someone else who’s healthy and young like her.

Any Treatment of Caffeine Addiction?

Question by pathak568: Any treatment of caffeine addiction?
I hav migrain problem so I use vasograin for headache long time .the ratio of caffeine 100mg per tablet. now i feel addiction. i always feel Sleeplessness and pain in body. according to books its coz is caffeine.Am i addicted of caffiene?

Best answer:

Answer by Smartassawhip
There is about 200mg of caffeine in a medium strong cup of coffee. If you had 2 cups of coffee a day the caffeine you had would be equal to 4 tablets of vasograin.

Sleep problems can occur from taking caffeine but coffee is the national drink here in the USA and most people don’t have sleep problems from it.

I can’t imagine that the caffeine you take is causing any of the pain you have. I’ve never heard of that happening. The reason that a small amount of caffeine is added to some pain relievers is that scientists have found that when this is done, the pain relief is better.
