I think it starts out as a compulsion. Like, feeling the need to do it when you’re upset, angry, etc, then it leads to addiction.

Seeing pictures of it can or can’t have an effect on you. Maybe some people like seeing pictures because they think it’s cool how bad some cuts can be. And then there are other people who hate doing it and looking at it, but do it anyway.
