Is Addiction a Disease?
Question by Brandon: Is Addiction a disease?
This debate has gone on forever. Please only reply with FACTS, no opinions or uneducated guesses. I want to know if addiction truely is a disease, or simply a lack of will power. If it is a disease then why is it not treated as such. If a person with cholera has a rage fit, it is not treated as a crime since they turely can not help it, but if a person uses drugs it is a crime that is punished, not treated as a disease and treated instead. I guess I have yet to be convinced that something you choose initially to do can be classified as a disease, unlike cancer which one does not choose. Please enlighten , or support me. If you have proof of addiction as a disease please link me to it. I am on yahoo messanger as sub_noize_rats, hit me up
