I know nicotine in tobacco makes it addictive, but what makes the drugs listed above addicting? Alcoholics and “hobos” try to get lots of alcohol. People smoke weed even though they don’t want to anymore. *Sniff sniff* Inhalants are addictive? WHY!?!!?! I learned all this in some program at school. But I didn’t feel like asking. Too much attention….

inhalants aren’t addictive at all they just aren’t pot isn’t addictive at all it just isn’t alcohol is addictive because after using it for so long your body teaches itself that it needs it to function which it does and if you don’t have you can have seizures

All of these drugs, including sleep aids, depression meds, and caffeine all are addictive because of psychological reasons, not physical ones.
Example: Marijuana has no addictive chemical, the people that “need” it, smoke because they want to.
Even sex is addictive for some people.
The withdrawal symptoms are your brains way of SCREAMING that it needs the certain addiction, not a certain chemical that causes the addiction.
