Whats the Difference Between Liberals Wanting Strict Gun Laws and Conservatives Wanting Strict Drug Laws?

Question by o snap: Whats the difference between liberals wanting strict gun laws and conservatives wanting strict drug laws?
every time someone shoots someone and kills them, we hear liberals say “ohh! you see, if guns are legal and easy to get, look what happens!” likewise, when someone has a drug addiction, or does something bad with drugs or while on drugs, conservatives use that as reason to say “ohh! you see, if we let people get drugs easy, THIS is what happens!”

but whats the difference between the 2? arent they just different versions of the same thing?
yes people, i know owning a gun is a constitutional right, but nowhere in the constitution does it give the federal government to have a war on drugs.
to the person who said “drugs serve no purpose” … so its okay to BAN things if YOU think they have no purpose??
“you cant protect your family with it..” … “its self-destructive behavior” … again, these are poor, POOR reasons given as to why we should ban drugs. if i cant protect my family with something, that means we should make that something illegal? … do we need a government to protect us from ourselves?
to all the right-wingers who said anything about the constitution… yes, you are right about the 2nd amendment. but please show me where exactly in the constitution it gives the federal government the power to have a war on drugs.

No one really wants strict Gun laws, if fact we have more gun rights now than we’ve had in the last 100 years.

There are some small differences, but both essentially take away from our personal freedom.
