Why Does Trying to Stop Cutting Seem So Futile?

Question by : why does trying to stop cutting seem so futile?
I’ve been getting help, but its still tempting at times. Its like im fine for a bit, then I end up cutting again, and then im fine for a bit again. I haven’t cut in a while, but I want to and I still keep a knife around (I tried getting rid of my knives, but in the end I always end up getting more).

I’m sure it’s like any psychosis. I’m sure it’s not a cake-walk to get rid of it.

You’re enabling yourself. You keep knives around so obviously you’re gonna consider using them.

Its like a drug addict that keeps around some needles and heroin “just to have it”

This is just an addiction for you that you need to get rid of. You need to change ur current mindset if you wanna give it up.

If life doesnt seem to be working then change it. and if that doesnt work then change it again. It’s your only life so you better enjoy it. No one gets a second chance at living.

It’ll be tough but no great accomplishment in life is easy. Good luck dude, you can do it
