“I’m going on a low sugar (not no sugar cause I wouldn’t stick to it)”
Keep sweet plant based foods in your diet rather than keeping refined sugars in your diet. Try consuming a whole piece of fresh fruit, steamed beets, and even steamed carrots. Sweet potatoes (steaming or baked) can satisfy the sweet tooth providing important micronutrients. Eliminate refined sugars in all forms, especially soda pop. Avoid diet drinks because aspartame increases appetite and can lead to overeating.

Eliminating refined carbohydrates such as white flour and most breads and pastries is important. Including complex carbohydrates in plant based foods is equally important. Eliminate white rice, but include brown rice and quinoa in your diet.

I’d give up white potatoes and white rice immediately. Substitute brown rice or quinoa which is absorbed slower.
Over time, I’d consider giving up daily consumption of animal based proteins such as dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, butter) and meat (beef, pork, poultry, fish). Substitute dark leafy greens for calcium, iron, and partial proteins. Include colorful vegetables. For complete protein add legumes (beans, peas, lentils) and whole grains (quinoa, brown rice, buckwheat) If you give up animal based food products completely, then make sure to maintain B12, D, and Omega-3 fatty acids. Of course, healthy pure vegetarians eat a wide variety of foods and tend to be healthier and more alert. Pure vegetarian (vegan) populations have longer and healthier lives with fewer incidents of vascular disease, diabetes, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and even osteoporosis.
