Addiction Rehab: Video Game Addiction…what if I Dont WANT Help?

Question by ItHappens: Video game addiction…what if i dont WANT help?
I am pretty aware I have a video game (MMO) addiction. And i do realize the effects it can have on my everyday life. But would you think it’s a necessary action to forcibly try and “rehab” the addict…whether he or she likes it or not…aka “I’m doing it for their own good” crap? Do you think it’s right for PARENTS to try and forcibly wean their addicted kids offa vid games in hopes in that when they turn 18 they wont play video games hardly or even ever? Is it possible that maybe they just dont understand “gaming” and the whole inner workings and concepts of it and they absolutely refuse to in order to try and make their viewpoints stronger rather than give their child any regard?

If it’s your parents then do what they say, you can always play games later. I’m 30 and still play LOTS of video games, but I live my everyday life too, there HAS to be a balance, I’m sure every game you play WoW or whatever has balance in it. A game too easy sucks and a game too hard is unplayable. You have to have that same balance in your life as well.
