Question by ElsaWinter: Rehab for food addiction?
This is something that I have always wondered. Why is it that there are rehabs for people who suffer from substance and alcohol abuse, but no similar recovery centers for people who suffer from addiction to food? The severity of the addiction itself is exactly similar to that of a drug addiction.

I know that people who suffer from food addiction generally have some underlying emotional disorders that are usually the cause of the food addiction, but eating disorder treatment centers only focus on the deeper issues, and not the food (aka the drug). They do not put anyone on any “diets”, in fact they make you eat. Eat balanced.    Read more...
