I am doing a class project in lanugage for “IF ALCOHOL SHOULD BE ILLIGAL LIKE NON PRECRIPTION DRUGS (SUCH AS COCAINE, CRAK, ECSTASY)” I picked that alcohol shoul still be LEGAL like it is now. I need help finding facts stating why it should!!!

Alcohol when abused can be very damaging, life threatening and fatal, just like non prescription drugs. I dont have resources or facts, but more first & second hand experience with alcohol.. AND illegal street drugs.

I still think alcohol when compared to some of those heavy drugs out there, is not as damaging and is often times safer than getting high off a line, an injection of lethal fluid or a big hit from some smoking device.    Read more...

Question by nic: If I go to rehab will they stop my Xanax and Adderall prescriptions?
If I go to rehab for a opiate addiction will they try take me off of my other meds? What else could it hurt if I checked into the addiction side of rehab?

Opiate addiction can be very difficult to overcome. There are a number of different schools of thought about how to effectively treat heroin dependence, and each has its merits. There are a many addiction treatment centers available providing treatment for opiate dependence. If possible, you should speak with your primary physician or psychiatrist to discuss the most appropriate treatment for your addiction. I was asking this because mom’s been smoking too much lately and the smell of cigarettes just tick me off, can’t stand it. Was wondering if it would actually harm her if I found her cigarettes or lighter and threw it away or hid it somewhere. If it would be too harmful, other tips of how to deal with this would be appreciated. Thanks.

I felt much better when I quit after smoking 3 packs a day for 9 years.
