I’m a 14 year old girl and i had my first beer a few nights ago and i was fine then the next night i had 2 and then the next 3 (found out 3 is my limit). i just think it tastes good its not all i think about doing but its becoming a natural part of my nightly routine. i have alcoholics on both sides of my family so how do i keep from becoming one of them? my parents would be devastated if they found out so i really do need to quit.

Is it possible for gambling addiction to be hereditary. My parents and grandparents all seem to be addicted to gambling, I don’t gamble for the fact that I’ve done it before and know I would get addicted. Could I have gotten this from my parents and grandparents?

Addictive personalities can be hereditery, so you are smart to stay away from gambling. You should also be very careful with any other behaviors that have the potential to be addictive (i.e. smoking, drug use, drinking, etc). It’s the personality that’s hereditary; it isn’t specific to the type of addiction.
