Question by LWS Heathcliff: Narcolepsy Questions?
My only official diagnosis is Narcolepsy and I have been on medication for it for a year now. Unfortunately I have not found a combination of medicine that improves my condition much and I have 5 doctors telling me 5 different possible other medical problems. I wondered if anyone else has had difficulty with medication balancing with Narcolepsy? If it gets better or worse with age? & If anyone else has had trouble describing possible other medical problems after being diagnosed narcoleptic?

Narcolepsy is characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness, often with sudden loss of muscle tone (cataplexy), sleep paralysis, and hypnagogic phenomena. Diagnosis is by polysomnography and a multiple sleep latency test. Treatment is with modafinil or various stimulants.

Depression and Drug Addiction?

Question by : Depression and Drug Addiction?
I have been feeling very depressed and lonely for the past 3 or 4 years. I believe it’s because of how I ruined my life by drinking and being arrested for DUI and drug possession three times. I have no friends because of this. I have tried committing suicide several times by either stabbing myself, hanging myself, or overdosing. I was put in a mental hospital last summer for a week because someone saw me trying to kill myself. The hospital didn’t do anything for me. In fact I feel worse than ever before. I dont wanna die because of the emotional pain im going through. I wanna die because I am tired of living. I am also now addicted to hydrocodone and roxycodone. I just keep popping pills in my mouth hoping that something bad happens to me. I hate waking up every day, I just want it all to end. I can’t afford to go to a doctor so that’s out of the question. I have been diagnosed with major depression, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder if that helps. I also am an atheist so therefore don’t mention God or Jesus. I have never believed in them as I think they are fake.

Can Second Hand Smoking Cause Addiction?

Question by ?Jessa: Can second hand smoking cause addiction?
I have a group of friends who I hang out with, I’d say, at most three times in a month. They’re all 17-20. They smoke. A LOT. They don’t try to get me to smoke, they don’t push ANYTHING on me, but whenever I hang out with them I remember the scent of the smoke, almost as if it’s right in front of me, and it’s almost appealing. I’m seriously getting afraid that one day I’m going to want to just take one and smoke it.
I can’t smoke. I’m a singer, I’m an actress, I don’t find smoking morally wrong or anything, I don’t judge smokers, I just don’t want to get involved with it. It’s that simple. My friends understand.
